The Role of the Business Development Manager.
MUST Have lived in Winnipeg for the past ten years
MUST HAVE experience selling digital media solutions, to qualify for this position.
You are responsible for generating new leads and business opportunities.
You must be comfortable and effective with prospecting, cold calling and personal meetings over the phone and in-person.
We expect excellent interpersonal & technical skills.
You will gain experience interacting with clients of all levels, in a variety of industries.
You eat, sleep, and breathe sales. You want to work in sales until the day you retire, and you want to have more control over your life and career than most companies offer. You are a solid networker, a natural leader, someone who loves to meet new people and solve interesting problems. Most importantly, you aren’t green to the industry. You understand marketing, where it has been, and where it is going and can discuss it with a customer knowledgeably. You can build a team and help them achieve their sales goals as well as blow your own out of the water.
University degree with 3-5 years related (B2B) work experience.
Agency experience in branding/advertising/marketing/consulting and/or business development required.
Experience in business development/CRM programs (e.g. SalesForce, Sharpspring, Hubspot etc.) preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and able to integrate with Google Docs.
Team player with strong attention to detail.
Bilingualism is a strong plus but not required.
You like or have an opinion on Dr. Who.
The Business Development Manager works to improve our organization’s market position and achieve financial growth. Our BDM defines long-term organizational strategic goals, builds key customer relationships, identifies business opportunities, negotiates and closes business deals and maintains extensive knowledge of current market conditions.
Work with the internal team, and other managers to increase sales opportunities and thereby maximize revenue for their organization. To achieve this, you need to find potential new customers, present to them, ultimately convert them into clients, and continue to grow business in the future.
The primary role of the Business Development Manager is to prospect for new clients by networking, cold calling, advertising or other means of generating interest from potential clients. Business Development Manager introduces our services to small businesses and large enterprises across Manitoba.
Prospect for new business by tapping into new leads generated by the company or via cold calling and various professional networking.
Create and manage client databases using our internal system.
Conduct over the phone introductions of our service offering.
Schedule appointments for the next level within our business development process.
Ensure a seamless transition of customer responsibility to the Business Development Manager.
Identify opportunities to enhance systems/tools.
Stay current with all company products, services, technologies & digital marketing strategies.
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Understands the principles of business development.
Proven knowledge of Digital Marketing industry.
Excellent know-how of MS-Office.
Strong leadership skills and ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
Exceptional work ethic. Uses time productively, maximizes efficiency, and meets challenging work goals.
Demonstrates persistence, overcomes obstacles, and strives to improve skills and achieve goals.
Sales ability, a strong understanding and knowledge of Digital Marketing and computer skills are a must.
